Hello! I'm Shilpy, an artist based in North Carolina, living with my wonderful husband and kids. I love painting, connecting to nature and being with my family. I have been practicing art for a very long time. I sell my paintings to the customers from all over. I exhibit my art in art galleries, and art magazines and have sold in art auctions also. I have been awarded the winner by Artistonish magazine in the art contest for their 49th issue and got published in their magazine.
Through my art, I wish to spread positive energy and good vibes in every space where my artwork is displayed. I hope that viewers can connect with the genuine emotional expressions reflected in my art.
My Art Journey
My art journey has been one of exploration and inspiration. I draw from my experiences and surroundings to create pieces that tell a story and evoke emotion. Painting is a calming process for me. I truly enjoy every brush stroke and believe colors can brighten our moods and enrich our lives. I spend a lot of time in nature and my days are spent painting as much as possible. Sometimes, I don't paint but sit quietly in my art studio and listen to my favorite music while carefully gazing at my work.
These moments help me get inspired to improve and create more.
As a child, I spent my free time creating art in different ways, driven by an urge to capture everything that intrigued me through its shape, form, and complexity. I would often draw different showpieces at home, collected by my parents, patterns of various things around me, or the flowers in our garden.
I continued my artistic journey spontaneously and naturally. It was never planned. I had never imagined turning my art into a business; my passion was always teaching. For years, I focused on private tutoring. But eventually, I decided to share and sell my artwork.
I like to paint on various nature-inspired themes like Florals, landscapes, etc. Painting landscapes transports me to entirely different worlds. Capturing the varying shades of the sky, or the waves of the ocean and recreating them on my canvas satisfies me at the soul and spiritual level. Other than these I am drawn towards folk art of India. By creating Heritage Art, I experience a deep connection to different Indian regions, their cultures, and traditions which help me to stay connected to my Indian roots, bringing me the confidence to be who I am.
